At Yappes, we are dedicated to developing cutting-edge products that empower customers in their digital transformation endeavours. To enhance the customer experience, we are seeking a skilled DevOps engineer who will play a crucial role in deploying product updates, identifying and resolving production issues, and implementing seamless integrations tailored to meet our customers’ specific requirements. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering and be familiar with JavaScript, Golang or Python, and will work with developers and engineers to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended. The DevOps engineer will also help plan projects and be involved in project management decisions
Objectives of this role
- Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure
- Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
- Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
- Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
- Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes
- Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
Responsibilities
- Deploy updates and fixes, and provide Level 2 technical support
- Build tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve customer experience
- Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues
- Develop scripts to automate visualization
- Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
- Documentation of SOPs, deployment architecture etc
Required skills and qualifications
- Experience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar software engineering role
- Proficiency with Git and GitHub workflows, CI/CD using Github actions etc
- Good experience on deploying applications on Kubernetes
- Troubleshooting availability and performance issues on Kubernetes
- Expertise in managing containers (docker, podman etc), docker compose etc
- Good knowledge of Golang, JavaScript or Python
- Working knowledge of databases (MySQL, MongoDB) and SQL
- Problem-solving attitude
- Collaborative team spirit
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Bachelor of science degree (or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or relevant field
- Experience in customer experience
