Full Stack Developer (Node.js / Express / React) | 1–3 Years | Yappes

At Yappes, we are building products that solve real-world API and platform engineering problems. We are looking for a hungry, curious, hands-on Full Stack Developer who loves building things, solving problems, and taking ownership.

This is a great role for someone in the 1–3 years experience range who wants to work across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and product features in a fast-moving startup environment.

What you will do

• Build backend services and APIs using Node.js and Express.js

• Develop user-facing features using React.js

• Work on product features end-to-end, from idea to implementation

• Integrate with internal and third-party APIs

• Work with databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, or similar

• Debug issues, optimize performance, and improve existing features

• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams

• Participate in testing, deployment, and production issue analysis when needed

What we are looking for

• 1–3 years of experience in full stack web development

• Good hands-on experience in JavaScript, Node.js, and Express.js

• Good working knowledge of React.js

• Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, and modern web application architecture

• Familiarity with MySQL, MongoDB, or similar databases

• Comfortable using browser developer tools and debugging application issues

• Familiarity with Git/GitHub

• Someone who enjoys ownership, learning quickly, and solving challenging problems

Good to have

• Experience with API integrations

• Exposure to testing frameworks like MochaJS

• Understanding of deployment workflows and staging/production environments

• Contributions to personal projects, internships, hackathons, or open-source work

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and Express.js

• Build and maintain frontend components and user interfaces using React.js

• Design, develop, and consume RESTful APIs

• Work with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as MySQL and MongoDB

• Implement business logic and feature enhancements as per product requirements

• Troubleshoot and debug issues across frontend and backend components

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for development, testing, and release activities

• Follow coding standards and best practices

Required Skills

• 1–3 years of experience in full stack development

• Proficiency in JavaScript

• Hands-on experience with Node.js and Express.js

• Hands-on experience with React.js

• Good understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP, and REST APIs

• Experience working with MySQL, MongoDB, or similar databases

• Familiarity with browser developer tools for debugging

• Working knowledge of Git/GitHub

Preferred Skills

• Experience in third-party API integrations

• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as MochaJS

• Understanding of software development lifecycle, deployment workflows, and production support

• Exposure to scalable product/application development environments
